Change of Scenery

When it comes to sport, fitness is relevant to the time of year.
In AFL we are not looking for match fitness in October, November and December, but we do want to stay in shape and try new things. This is called ‘pre-Christmas’ pre-season training.

While we retain some fitness by continuing to move, this is when a change of training pace, format and scenery can work well. A location camp or just different training venues (i.e. the beach) will challenge the group and keep things interesting so enthusiasm remains.

This training prepares the group for ‘post-Christmas’ pre-season training, when the hard slog begins to get fitness at the required levels and focus back on track.

So before your Christmas break, try something new with your training and enjoy it.
